Javan Maegla Joslin was born a Leo on August 11, 1989, the third son in a family of alliteratively named boys, oldest Jeffrey and middle brother Justice.
Javan was born in Nashville, TN and since music was and is a hallmark of the Joslin family (except for father Jeff who sadly only plays the cowbell) Music City proved foreshadowing for the place music would hold in the brothers collective heart.
Javan discovered early on (and so did his teachers) that he was immensely bright, curious, talkative and eager to learn at his own pace.
This resulted in homeschooling for a time in his primary years which was beneficial toward Javan being able to express his intelligence and creativity.
All three brothers have black belts in TaeKwonDo that led to them taking a trip to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia as part of a demonstration group encouraging athletes not to use drugs.
Like his older brothers Javan also excelled at football, playing for Science Hill High School along with his brother Justice who was two years ahead of him.
For years football at SHHS was defined by the fact that there was at least one Joslin in the line-up and often two.
Being a close-knit family; the Joslin boys innately grew up with a camaraderie and team spirit to guide them.
Javan was the first brother to break-away from the trajectory the boy’s parents inspired, when he graduated high school in 2008 and joined The United States Navy.
It was a difficult decision for Javan to leave his recently divorced mother with whom he shares an almost telepathic bond and deep friendship to move to Pensacola, FL and fulfill his duties as a secret security trained graduate of Naval Aircrew Candidate School.
It was a time of separation for the brothers, with Javan feeling the most distanced and needing to discover his own place in the world.
He did that by attending the University of Tennessee, joining the Volunteers as a Wide Receiver and choosing to get his degree in psychology.
Then tragedy struck and Javan suffered from a minor football injury that turned into a life or death situation in the ICU when an unknown blood disorder caused clots to form in his lungs.
Javan would eventually endure this medical struggle fighting for his life on another two occasions when he was only 20 years old.
Once he was correctly diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder that would require him to be on blood thinners for the rest of his life; his football dreams were no longer viable.
With amazing fortitude for someone so young, Javan used this experience to drive him forward to complete his degree and to focus on life in a new direction.
In 2014 that direction was Los Angeles where both his brothers now lived; Jeffrey working as a musician and Justice as a male fashion model.
For Javan he was willing to make his own way at a finance company in the traditional nine to five bracket.
But Los Angeles would have none of that for Javan. Soon like his father, he was acting. Like his brother, Justice, he was modeling and then somehow the natural ability to give of himself generously to others began to show itself by way of an innate skill in marketing.
With his business partner Reymond VillaSenor they began a full-service media agency called The Creative Media & Intelligence Agency.
Javan continues building his entrepreneurial skills working on a number of projects for C.M.I; including a mass marketing campaign for a new social platform app, Incogo.
Other projects include singing with his brothers and cousin in a band, as well as creating and implementing a marketing strategy for the band and working with his brother Justice on marketing efforts for the recording studio he recently built.
Acting and modeling are still a primary focus for Javan, he keeps his hand in, especially learning all he can about acting by devouring plays and screenplays.
Javan surfs, enjoys playing basketball and volleyball at the beach and loves to ride his bike on a clear sunny day or head to Runyon Canyon for a hike.
He dreams of his next vintage motorcycle and enjoys problem solving on high performance vehicles.
Mostly he spends time with the family he cares so much for, always willing to lend a hand and give his time to make sure his loved ones have smooth sailing in whatever their particular passions are.
